Greetings Checkmate! I very much wish I could participate in Joe´s black belt test, but will be unable to do so as I am on a vacation in Portugal until Nov 23. Best of luck to Joe. This will be a major milestone and I regret that I can`t be there to join Joe and the rest of the Checkmate family in celebrating this accomplishment. Best, Jose

I agree, it was a great learning experience. I was most impressed with how calm you were, then exploded, yet maintained good control. I’m also feeling a bit sore, but as always it was a great class.

It was a pleasure to Uki for you tonight. You showed excellent control, and despite just a few heavy-handed strikes like the sidekick to my chest that stopped me in my tracks, your control was steady throughout and a great example of poise. Frankly, being an Uki for you is a learning experience. You taught us tonight how a good Tori should act when facing one Uki after another. The important thing is that we all walked away intact, no limps and only slightly bruised. But hey, a little bruising comes with the territory… It isn’t a dance class after all.
