Congrats to Katie Callahan and Chris Davis for promotion to Yellow belt in Judo! This morning’s test went well with big booms and flying hair. Pictures are sure to follow. Well done Chris and Katie!!

Teaching Clinic 1/10/11 *Brown Belt and above**

If you are Brown belt or above, I would like to invite you to a teaching clinic that Senpai and I will be hosting on Monday 1/10/11 after the Jujitsu class. As our student body continues to grow and the number of instructors grow along with it, it is important that we consistent with what we teach and how we do it. Our goal is not to restrict individual teaching styles but rather be more consistent with the method that we use to run our classes. I encourage all Brown and Black Belts in both Jujitsu and Judo to attend this 45 min event.

To all that participated in our annual “Support our troop’s collection”, I would like to thank you for your donations! I am sure they will be well received.

This year, along with all the dry goods and personal care products and videos, we donated two guitars from all of you, one of them a signed Checkmate Martial Arts limited edition. A special thanks to Dave and Chris for their donations. I would also like to extend a special thank you to Maria who once again put this project in motion and got me to get everything out to the post office on time, wounded flipper an all!

Brown belt test this Saturday please be in attendance to support your classmates. This will be a unique test. Coffee will be served for those of you that normally don’t get up that early on a Saturday!
